I provide problem-focused brief psychotherapy based on the belief that everyone is capable of creating the change that they would like to see within themselves or within their relationships. My goal is to help people experience these changes that they have envisioned for their futures. I believe in working with individuals, families, and couple partnerships through a combination of guidance and direction. I believe that therapy can involve healing, growth, and empowerment for the individuals or relationships in treatment. A lot of time and energy are spent with all other aspects in life, why wouldn’t we invest growth and opportunity with our loved ones?
I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and as such they have the power and strength within themselves to make the changes in their lives that they wish to see.
I believe that the therapist-client relationship is a collaborative partnership, where I adapt to the client’s needs, whether that to be more as a guide assisting the client along the way, or more directive as a person who is knowledgeable of behavior and relationships by offering strategies to resolve particular issues.
My style of therapy is focused on helping clients identify specific problems and offering strategies that will help resolve issues they are struggling with. My approach blends a combination of problem-focused, solution-focused, strength-based, and present-oriented modalities.
I have special interests in:
• Grief and loss
• Life transitions including but not limited to pregnancy, parenting, postpartum issues
• Aging & elderly concerns
Come see me if you want to experience the change you have envisioned for yourself and your relationships.
