I specialize in EMDR and assist adults with bipolar, borderline personality disorder, and a history of trauma who want to move past whatever is stopping them from having the quality of life they deserve. I believe, given a comfortable, nurturing atmosphere and a compassionate therapist, growth is not only possible, it is inevitable.
Taking the first step, by asking for help, is a courageous choice that can change your life. Working through your painful past experiences reduces the feelings of victimization and allows you to regain personal power.
I have an easygoing style and have been told that I am warm, personable, easy to talk to, and a good listener. I'm a compassionate, non judgmental professional who is dedicated to creating a positive, healthy atmosphere. It is important to me to create an environment where you will feel safe to express what you are struggling with so that we can work together to remove obstacles that may be preventing you from feeling good. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship of mutual respect and trust where you will feel safe to express yourself. You will be treated with the utmost honor and respect, and that the personal issues which are presented are treated with dignity.
About Me
I graduated, with honors, from the University of Phoenix Masters in Counseling - Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy in 2011.
I have been performing marriage and family therapy since 2010. I have approximately 1300 hours of experience. My experience includes treating adults with a history of childhood sexual abuse, clients in a 28-day substance abuse program, and homeless Veterans with dual diagnosis, many of whom had a history of trauma. I have experience in individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which has been shown to be an effective treatment for trauma. As a therapist, I provide therapy tailored to fit your needs. Together we will develop a plan that will bring you from where you are to where you want to be.
