I provide a carefree counseling environment where children and their families can reconnect, enhance communication, and increase emotional intimacy among each other.
The therapy approach I focus on highlights the individual’s uniqueness, positive qualities and potential. When clients invite me in, I focus on the clients’ ability to create their own outcome by using an empathic and a non-judgmental approach.
I love working with every demographic category, but I absolutely love working with children and families. My passion is to help the children and their families and/or guardians to enhance their communication, understanding and love for each other; and bring the carefree spirit back into the children’s lives.
I often use the techniques of art and play therapy with children and their families. The play and art based approaches provide families the opportunity to laugh, be creative, work as a team, learn more about each other, explore thoughts and feelings, and have a different relational experience with each other. This has the potential to increase emotional intimacy which with practice will provide the support that the families can use as a secure a base from which to grow forward.
About the “Carefree Therapy” Name
The Carefree Therapy name came about because I love the carefree spirit I see in children. It also happens to be the meaning of my Chinese name given by my family. People that I’ve met pointed out that I live up to that meaning because I appear carefree in the sense that I always seem happy and positive; even when there are a million thoughts going on my mind. I try to not let certain problems get to me and always try my best to find a positive side to a bad situation.
I strive to provide a carefree environment where upon entering my office, the client can let their guards down, feel free of judgments and pressure, and be themselves during the therapy hour.
